Jim has been working with Smart Art & Design for nearly five years. As both a designer and photographer, Jim has a keen eye that contributes to his creative ability to capture narrative and tell a story with images. This plays an important role in finding solutions for advertising and editorial projects.

Since obtaining a BFA from Siena Heights University in Michigan, Jim has gained nearly 20 years of professional design experience. He has created a broad range of contemporary projects for clients in the music, retail, automotive, healthcare and toy industries.

With a strong knowledge of current software packages, he is equally comfortable working on logos, catalogs, magazines, brochures or web interfaces. His background in printing gives him the foresight to avoid costly production problems and see the job through from concept to press check.

During his career, Jim discovered a strong correlation between the layouts, color and symmetry he used in  his designs and in his photographs. Building on this concept he began to explore unique perspectives,  lighting and composition that enable him to create compelling and memorable images.
